Please Help, “Running Away” From Home What Should I Do?
Question by xxanonymousxx14: please help, “running away” from home what should i do?
i know this might be long but please help me !
okay so im 16 years old and i wont be 17 until january.
my dad is verbally abusive, and alcoholic and my mom doesnt do anything to stop him when he hits her, gets in my face, or hits my brother.
my older sister who is 22 and lives in oklahoma wants me to come live with her,
if i left without my parents permission, (i live in kansas) to go live with her, what can happen ?
right when i get there, shes going to talk to a social worker and see what we can do , because i really do not wanna be at my house anymore because icant take it, and its been going on for so long, and im scared to be here, or make anyone mad .
my parents do not have legal guardianship over me, my grandpa does because before my grandma died, they adopted us, and he doesnt have anything together either, he lives with us, and he just lets it happen too.
if i get classified as a runaway once i get there, if i tell them whats going on will they let me stay with my sister? Theres been police called to my house numerous times because of my dads violence towards my mom and all of us. that would be proof right ?
and the fact that my grandpa is my guardian and just lets us be around it like that and doesnt do anything about it, isnt that wrong too ?
i just wanna know if im gonna be okay, and once my sister tries fighting for me, if it comes down to it, if you think we can win ?
i dont just go live with my grandpa because he lives with us, and he cant take care of me properly because he adopted me when my grandma was alive, and once she died they moved in cause he couldnt do anything for himself, and everythings like fallen apart. thank you guys soo much for just saying that , im leaving tomorrow morning EARLY , and i just want to be strong because if this doesnt work out, my dad will kill me.
