“Occasional Pot Smoking”? Is That Ok?

Question by AJS: “Occasional pot smoking”? Is that ok?
Our 16 year old boy who I might add scored above a 1400 on SAT’s and will graduate in the top 5% of his class and is applying to several of the nations top engineering schools for computer science told us that he enjoys getting high once in a while. He is grossed out by cigarettes, doesn’t drink and makes fun of the “pot heads”, would never try cocaine (so he say’s). Yet occasionally he and his friends enjoy getting high. We told him we don’t approve and he told us while he is living under our roof he will not do it again. Not sure if I believe that. Anything I’m missing here?
