Question by emilyelement: My uncle is an alcoholic who won’t go to rehab. What can I do for him?
He lives far away, but he just had another seizure from withdrawal, and my family is in shambles trying to help. He is going to counseling, and we have considered quitting for him, but when I suggested it to him he laughed. He says he’ll take off on his horse before going to rehab. Also, when he quits, he will be in the same environment, Colorado where everyone drinks. What can I do for my family? For him??

Nothing. You can’t help someone that doesn’t want to be helped, PERIOD.
