He has been using for a couple of years, it is consuming his life one bit at a time. now he has gotten himself arrested and my family and i have decided not to bail him out with hopes that it acts as a catalyst of some sort in him deciding to clean up. I am looking for any advice on how to approach this problem, and if there is anyone who knows of a good rehab center in the Dutchess county area of New York, methodologies to get him to go, tactics on how to inspire a wanted recovery….ANYTHING…

i’ve dealt with numerous addictions. not mine, but close family members. the sad thing is for most people, they have to be ready to get help. they truly need to hit rock bottom on their own to realize how messed up their life is. if you can persuade him, however, to go to treatment/rehab, that’s great. just make sure that you and your family are a united front when it comes to boundaries
