More Information Regarding the Enabling of Substance Abuse?

I have heard that there are times when family members, without meaning to, even encourage the drug-dependent to continue on with his substance addiction. How does this happen? What are they doing that is actually detrimental to the individual?

If a family is providing $$ and the person is buying substance with the $$ that is enabling. Buy the food, gas or cigs directly if you must help the person in any way never give them $$!
