London Film Festival: A True Celebration of Films

‘a World Tour of Films’ at the London Film Festival

In the last two weeks in October, I have been on a magical world tour that included the US, France, Italy, South Africa, South Korea, Taiwan and India, to mention a few. But as all these countries came to me in London, I only had to travel to London. Before you all wonder if I have gone crazy, let me tell you that the Times BFI 51st London Film Festival made it possible! Few films from the festival are reviewed below and I hope you enjoy the tour as much as I did.

Spooky Halloween events

For a night of live music: The Haunted Ballroom has a Halloween special on 30th October 2010. Halloween Spooktacular is also on this weekend in Thurleigh Farm Centre. A ride on the ghost train and carve a pumpkin lantern in the deadly dungeon.

The Godfather Keeping It in the Family

Paramount took an option on Mario Puzo’s novel before it became a best seller. The project was thrust upon a reluctant and untried Francis Ford Coppola after Elia Kazan, Arthur Penn, Peter Yates and Fred Zinnemann turned it down, the most frequently cited reason being that the story glorified the Mafia.
