Is This an Overdose?

Question by Ann: Is this an overdose?
My stepfather occasionally has severe back problems. He was taken in an ambulance once and was given high doses of pain killers and muscle relaxers that did little to help him.

Today he threw out his back. About an hour ago or so he took 2 muscle relaxers (oxycoton I think) AND 2 tylenol pm. Usually he only takes one of either. Now he is slurring his words slightly and I am somewhat worried. My boyfriend thinks he overdosed (he’s a firefighter trained in EMS). He went to lay in his bed with an ice pack.

Is this an overdose? We are keeping an eye on him (my mom went grocery shopping). But what else can we do? What can result from this. Is it okay if he falls asleep? How will know if he’s okay?

keep checking to make sure he is still breathing.
