Question by Steven: Is there a higher rate of alcohol and substance abuse in the gay community?
I have heard and read this and some of my friends (gay and lesbian) did do alcohol and substance abuse.
I am a 22 year old boy from NY. I am gay and I drink alcohol often (dependent, not addicted), and I am addicted to Ativan (Lorazepam) C15 H10 Cl2 N2 O2. It is a benzodiazepine (like Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, etc.) It is the drug of my choice. I have been on it since I was 17. I have grown a HUGE tolerance to the drug. I take HANDFULS of ATIVAN and drink ALCOHOL to get High every single day. I take it to escape, but mostly for the pleasure and recreational drug use to get High. I am in my own world, my problems and other problems, go right threw me, all I do is great things, never worry about anything, I ignore and completely avoid everything that I dislike and problems are history. I feel GREAT all time. DRUGS are GREAT!!!!!
