putting the fact that its illegal aside, do you think it is wrong for someone to smoke weed quietly at night when nobody’s outside? i smoke each night on my front porch. its too dark for anyone to really see me and i think its nice just sitting outside. but i know there are some pesky neighbors who would nail you with things like that there are children around these streets, but they wouldn’t care that i toked when all their kids were in bed and no one could possibly see me unless they smelled it and spied on me through the bushes or something. do you think it is a public disturbance when nobody’s around? because the court would use those things against you if caught.
to kevin: oh please are you a cop? its not like the smell of weed carries that far outside and into rooms like an apartment does.

I think it’s very considerate of you to keep things quiet after hours. There is the problem of smell to contend with and as you know, the breeze may “quietly” bring your “smoke” into my house so in that case, there wouldn’t be any need for me to be spying through your bushes. Guess what happens next? Yep.
Let’s say you had a “quiet” meth lab in your tool shed but the smell was wafting across my deck and into my rear windows. If just one of my kids ask “dad, what’s that reeking smell?”, then I’ve got to “investigate” and you may not like how I perform my investigations… Usually I call for assistance.
So… depending on which way the wind is blowing, you may or may not have a problem with me
