I have been taking 1.5mg of klonopin for 2 ears and now I want to stop taking it. If i wean off slowly will I experience withdrawal symptoms. If so, what kind?
About 5 years ago I used to take up to 10mg of xanax for anxiety and I tapered off of them without any problems. Just a little bit of increased anxiety and that’s it.
Will it be the same when I come off of Klonopin? Will the withdrawal symptoms be the same if any at all? and what kind of withdrawal symptoms can I experience or will most likely experience?

You may have some withdrawal symptoms so best to do it with your doctor’s instructions. If you taper slowly you’ll be less likely to suffer physical OR mental symptoms. Do it slower rather than faster, I always say… whats a couple weeks when you’ve been on it for 2 years already? 10mg of Xanax is a huge daily dose and if you didn’t have too many problems with that then coming off 1.5mg of Klonopin shouldn’t be too hard either, hopefully. Just do it slow and good luck:) When you do it fast is when you’re most likely to have “rebound effects”. Oh, and BTW no they are not “equivalent” drugs but I would say that they are pretty similar in terms of dosage, etc. How you are effected may be different than the next person, though.
