This wasn’t at all intentional. I have a gambling addiction and I was very drunk one night. I didn’t realize that echecks dont clear right away. So I deposited about 600 USD via echeck to an online gambling site. I lost it all. Then I checked my online bank account and was like “Oh I still have 0?!” (Granted, I was very drunk) I made a deposit with my debit card for 500 bucks on a different site, which went through right away. The next morning I realized that the echecks didn’t go through yet, and now I only have like 50 bucks in my bank account, and 600 bucks that still haven’t gone through yet. So, my question is…what can I expect to happen? I have family who can bail me out of problems, but I at least first need to know what I’m getting into. Is the gambling site going to get the money and put my checking account at about a negative 0? Or Will the checks be rejected, and nothing happen with my bank accounts, just my poker account go into a negative balance and my account locked? If anyone knows the answers as to what is going to happen, please let me know. I realize it was stupid and I am going to seek treatment for my gambling problem. Its was very foolish and I will never allow myself to do anything that stupid again. Can anyone tell me what to expect to happen? Thanks!

I currently work for bank of america, and I can tell you what will happen with a bofa account (and most likely any other bank) is that the bank HAS to pay the funds if the check was presented by you. It will leave your bank account -0

Dont use your account anymore until you see this clear and get it taken care of, cuz you can get into a lot more trouble with NSF and OD fees as well
