How to Position Your Site for Long Term Success With Article Marketing

The number one mistake that many new Internet business owners make is to rely too much on a single source of traffic. That’s fine and dandy if the traffic source converts well for you and you can scale your business up very quickly. An example of such a traffic source is per pay click traffic.

Advertisers bid on keywords that convert for them and they can buy all the traffic they want if it converts for them. People are making millions of dollars each year with pay per click traffic. The problem with this traffic source, however, is that it’s not easy to implement. There are many rules and policies that need to be understood, and with so many rumors flying around, the cloud of mystery is thick for many beginners. As a result, they lose money and confidence.

Besides, there’s nothing to stop a more experienced PPC expert to enter the market and out bid the new comer. It’s almost like a heavy weight entering the boxing ring and knocking out the little guy with one punch. Once the bid price becomes too high, the keywords become unprofitable, and that’s the end of that traffic source.

Moreover, no matter how cheap the click is, the moment you stop your PPC advertising, your whole Internet business comes to a standstill. No traffic, and nothing ever happens on the Internet. With so many potential pitfalls, it’s no surprise that many Internet marketers fail.

The successful ones, however, quickly recognized that in order to achieve long term success, they need to have as many traffic sources as possible. If every one works fine, the effect will compound and they’ll earn even more money. But if just one or two sources dries up, it’ll inconvenience them but it won’t kill their business.

That’s why so many Internet marketers have turned to article marketing as an additional traffic source. It’s easy to implement, and once the work is done, it gets them long term traffic. The traffic continues to come even though they stop the activities because of all the links that they’ve included with their articles.

Anyone can be an article marketer because it’s just so simple. It may require a bit of time to write and distribute the articles but those are simple tasks that anyone can perform. Even a twelve year old can write a short three hundred word article and submit to a few article directories. After distribution, they can expect to get clicks within a week or two. Wait a couple of months, and your site will start to rank well in the major search engines. Even if it doesn’t, people will come to recognize you for your expert advice, and eventually trust you enough to buy from you.

So setup your Internet business for long term success by incorporating article marketing as part of your overall traffic strategy.
