How Many Students Use Illegal Study Aides?

Question by jsprplc2006: How many students use illegal study aides?
This question is mainly for university students.

Are you aware of the use of illegally obtained prescription drugs by fellow students (or yourself) to improve performance? Most of these drugs work to increase wakefulness, alertness, drive, and endurance, enabling a person to study for extended periods of time without sleep or breaks.

Some examples include:
– amphetamines (Dexedrine, Adderall, Ecstasy, Desoxyn,…)
– methylphenidate derivatives (Ritalin, Focalin,…)
– modafinil

Any drug name ending with “acetam” doesn’t count.

Are you aware that the most POPULAR drug that is used by college students is… *drum roll*

CAFFEINE!

Duh.

It’s in soda, coffee, energy drinks… and if you look on ThinkGeek.com, it’s also in Breath mints, and soap.
Like your above mentioned drugs, it keep students awake for extended periods of time, without breaks or sleep… and it’s found in EVERYTHING… you don’t need to figure out a way to get a prescription, or pay some sleazy guy to get them for you.

I mean, seriously, what are you even ASKING??
Of course we know about this, do you want to ask if we’re using these? or know of anyone that uses these drugs? Are you asking if these drugs work? What?

I can tell you that I’ve known of NO ONE that uses drugs to help them out (besides caffeine)

In response to below comment…

At least I attempted to answer the question. You just gave rude commentary on my response.
