How Does Speed Effect Wear on Your Vehical?

Question by Tye M: How does speed effect wear on your vehical?
Old cars could be hurt by high speeds due to RPM’s climbing.
How does this effect cars in the 90’s doing saying 75 mph. with many miles on them.
My theory is it’s not how fast you go, but how quick you get there due to rpm’s staying at reasonable rate. Of course this only deals with the engine and not the whole car, which I see as milage in general for the most part.
Your thoughts?
not looking for maintainence advice, just speed issue.
Thanks though,

Wear and Tear. The faster you go, the faster things wear out, such as belts, pistons, wheel bearings. Keep everything in check and you should be good. Change oil regularly, keep everything greased, and keep it clean. You don’t know how long a vehicle will last if you wash it once in awhile.
