How Do I Stop My Friend From Using Meth?

I recently learned that my friend has been using meth. He is so strung out that he can’t talk straight & rarely knows where he is or what he’s doing. His behavior is terrifying! He won’t go into treatment on his own. Is there anyway that his family can have him committed into an inpatient program without his approval? Somebody please help before it’s too late.
