honey, you’re in a tragic dilemma!
your friends are wanting to experiment with alcohol.
you don’t…and you think it’s a bad thing.

you say “don’t tell me to find new friends” because you don’t want to “leave them to get unhealthy.”

A) there’s really not much you can say or do to stop someone from drinking unless you handcuff them to a lamp post or something sturdy!
B) they’ve already tried the booze and like what it does to them
C) since that’s the case, there’s REALLY nothing much you can do
D) I guess you could work off of the premise that they’re doing it just because they’re bored and suggest a healthier idea for fun…like let’s go watch a movie
E) but the movie gets over and “B” has already happened….which puts you back at “A”! this brings us again to point “C”
F) you sure as heck can’t BABYSIT them 24/7! That’s a REALLY sick thing to venture into.

See where this is going?

People are going to do what people are going to do! You can stick around but eventually you’re going to have to decide whether or not to LEAVE them…. or to JOIN THEM!
If you really feel that drinking alcohol is unhealthy behavior, then you must decide…
If I stay with them to “HELP” them, aren’t I taking a big risk about my OWN safety? You have to honestly answer this question:
Is it easier for water to run DOWN the hill….or UP the hill?

Just FYI….People who have the predisposition to abuse alcohol AREN’T going to put it down until it HURTS THEM ENOUGH that they have no other choice. Sorry to be the one to break that to you but it’s God’s honest truth. If these friends of yours are in that genetic/personality type group who do have the tendency to abuse alcohol….good luck! It’s going to take YEARS of hard drinking before it hurts them enough. Some of them make it into recovery. Most don’t.
