Question by Shika: How can I tell if I have ADHD?
I know its “common” nowadays and whatnot, but I really am starting to really wonder if I have it. I’ve done some research on it, but I’m not always sure how trustworthy it is. However, almost any list I read as to the “symptoms” of ADHD, I end up saying “Oh, that’s me!” on most of them, which makes me worried.
Does anyone know if there’s some medical website with a test, or actual self-diagnosis or ANYTHING of that sort that I can look at? Not really good at searching, so I’m asking for help.
Also, I’ve tried telling my mom about it, and she just laughs at me and shrugs it off as “you’re a teenager, whatever, just hyperactive” or something of the sort. I’m 17, so I don’t know if its still “just a teenager” thing…

dont worry u have no problem and u dont have ADHD. adahd is detected/diagnosed when one is still a toddler or kid. ADHD is NEVER diagnosed when they r in the adolescence. as adhd child has very obvious symptoms (like those u read) & they r always seen when they r just a kid. so no worries, u r just like ur mum said active like a teenager. sometimes teenagers do have ‘symptoms’ similar to adhd, however it is all because of their ‘growing-up’ hormones.

While you may have many of the symptons, you only have the disorder if the symptons are causing you significant problems in your life. Many people have many symptons for various things but the symptons are usually not severe enough to be worth worrying about.
If you are genuinely concerned, go see a doctor to see if you can get an official diagnosis. It’s best you tell them your concerns and let them decide what’s wrong and how it should be dealt with.
