Some things to try at home include sleep, which is essential for your body to heal; eliminating caffeine, especially until sleep patterns return to normal; drinking cranberry juice, which has been used for years to cleanse the body and exercising.

Kicking heroin at home without medication to help ease the pain of withdraws is known to most heroin addicts as cold turkey heroin. For those of you plan on quitting using this method I would suggest that you find someone to stay with you while you go through it. They can severe as a sort of moral support and may be the deciding factor whether you actually make it through this rigorous procedure because most addicts give up before they are halfway through.

The first thing one needs to do is plan ahead and stay awake all day and night 24 hours before the day you intend to stop heroin. The idea behind this is that it will help you to sleep through the worst of your withdrawal.

Next I would go to the local drug store and buy some Motrin and Tylenol this will help with cramping and headaches. While there you can also get some Benadryl in case you are still unable to sleep. A lot of folks report that they suffer from diarrhea when they suddenly stop using. For this you can get some medication that contains Imodium. Well this should be all you need to get yourself clean so all you have to do now is take action.
