Kumasi, June 29, GNA – Dr Akwasi Osei, a Chief Psychiatrist at the Ghana Health Service (GHS), has expressed worry about the disturbing dimension that substance abuse is assuming in the country. He said young people were increasingly falling on petroleum products to get high.

Relatives of drug users seek to raise awareness of epidemic’
Caitlin Reed, 24, and her brother Michael Reed, 20, of Damascus show the ‘Bring awareness to Maryland’s OxyContin epidemic’ Facebook group she helped create. He has been free of his addiction to the prescription drug since January 2009. His family started the group to offer support to others.
