Does Street Amphetamine Show Up Differant to Dexamfetamine on a Drugs Test?

Answer by Mathieu
Probably not.

Most street amphetamine (speed) is either a combination of levoamphetamine and dextroamphetamine OR it is just dextroamphetamine. By the way in North America we spell dexamfetamine differently but dextroamphetamine is the same drug.

If you were using methamphetamine, a more potent amphetamine then testing will come back differently. Typically basic drug tests will simply test for “amphetamines” thus it could come up positive if any amphetamine is detected (this also typically includes ecstasy (MDMA)) but it may be unknown exactly what drug was used without doing more complex testing.

Simply put without knowing what was in the “street amphetamine” and exactly what the test looks for it is impossible to give an absolute.

I will spare the lecture about the dangerousness of amphetamine (especially street amphetamine) since I assume you know what they are.
