Do You Really Think Sex Offenders Can Be Helped?

Question by BiteTheHand: Do you really think sex offenders can be helped?
I’m really sick and tired of hearing about teenagers being murdered by guys who have already been in jail for sex (specifically violent) related crimes. Why are these people let out of jail? For good behavior? Because jails are overcrowded? Do people really think that if a guy brutally assaults a thirteen year old girl and tries to rape her that they can get rehabilitated? I don’t! It seems like every time there’s a death or kidnapping of a teenager, the culprit is someone who is already a known sex offender (obviously they’re violating their parole and the police aren’t even looking!) and/or are guys who have been to jail for a violent crime but got out for good behavior. Obviously when I talk about sex offenders I don’t mean 19 year old guys who sleep with their 16 year old girlfriends and her parents get pissed off, I’m talking about guys who have violently (and sexually) assaulted someone of really ANY age.
