The homicide scene cleaner company had been on the site of the murder for over six hours but had not yet been given the green light to proceed with their murder scene cleanup. The murder had occurred more than eight hours ago and the police detective in charge of the case had called them shortly after he had arrived on the scene. But the suspect had been shot by the eventual decedent before the victim expired. Accordingly, the samples of blood on the scene were possibly, though not clearly, mixed. The police were trying to get the best toxicology experts out to the scene because of the problem they faced. They wanted to ensure the blood that was taken at the scene was properly collected so they could run valid DNA tests on the samples.
Accordingly, the homicide scene cleaning company staff waited. They did clean up a little bit of debris from the area but nothing of great significance.
Finally, the toxicology experts confirmed they had been able to collect several samples of blood that were clearly different types. At that point the detective told the death scene clean up company to proceed with its work. For the next few hours they scrubbed and scoured the premises before finally decontaminating the area. They consulted with the police additionally before finishing their work after being on site for upwards of twelve hours.
