Hello. I’m 15 and in the 9th grade in Waynesville, Missouri. I was involved in an incident where a friend gave me a Motrin for a headache I had been having off-and-on for the past few days. It was finals week and I hadn’t been getting any sleep because of my anxiety issues (which I had, and still do get help with), and I figured the Motrin would relieve my pain. Needless to say, I got caught and suspended for 10 days, which the school board turned into 180 days (“posession” and “ingestion”). Yet again, needless to say, there’s been a lot of issues. Yesterday my schmuck psychologist (I’m sorry, but she really has done a lot more hurt than help lately, but I have to see her because the school requires I get a psychologist to write a letter about me; I’ve seen her for a while) told me that the school will be looking for emphasis on drugs in the letter (which makes sense), and that they might make me take a drug test. Let me again mention, I’m in high school. If you hadn’t deduced this already, I’m a recreational marijuana smoker. It hasn’t made me any worse of a person, and all it has done for me is help me. I have no psychological “dependence” for it, and it is not an issue in my life. As a matter of fact, I’d sooner smoke than drink alcohol. I despise alcohol. Well, now I’m done rabbit trailing. Any help is appreciated, and thanks ahead of time.

P.S.- Save the lectures on how marijuana is so bad. I’ve done a lot of research, and I admit I do bias a bit on the following statement, but marijuana is not bad. Illegality causes more harm than help.
Seriously, quit. I’ve been doing months and months of research on marijuana since the end of LAST school year.

Pshh who cares about Marijuana but obviously something is missing, a school can not suspend you for 180 days for taking motrin. All you have to do is tell them it was an OTC drug, you may get some sort of disciplinary action due to them not being able to monitor what it was like maybe 3 days suspension or In school suspension, but you cant not do a 180 suspension for an OTC, yes they can drug test only wiht parental consent, even if you show up positive for marijuana nothing will come of it except parents will be notified because they cant do anything if you ahve never been seen using on campus. But I would say have them drug test you cause if marijuana only thing comes up you are in the clear cause weed doesnt come in pill form yet…unfortunately!
