Atheists: If You Had No Knowledge of Science, Would You Think of Humans as More Than Just an Ensemble Of…?

Question by NON SUSPENDABLE ACCOUNT: Atheists: If you had no knowledge of science, would you think of humans as more than just an ensemble of…?
… systems and organs? More than bone and flesh?

Now the real question is – since science is only preoccupied with explaining the mechanisms of the physical universe, why do you let it get in the way of everything and make decisions for you?

I can go ahead and use technical terms, tell you that emotions are “chemicals” or “neurotransmitters” in the brain – but what is this achieving, exactly? Of course what they’re telling us is correct, but what do you truly and intuitively believe about emotions, the human condition, on a deeper level. What is the underlying truth … for you.

If you choose to look at an object and only see the sum of its parts, are you being honest with yourself, or are you suppressing natural thoughts that science tells you to avoid?

Science isn’t the only thing to bring people to atheism. People created religion to answer questions they couldn’t answer though so who knows.
