Are There Any Side Effects to Using a Nasal Spray Incorrectly?

Question by House, M.D.: Are there any side effects to using a nasal spray incorrectly?
My doctor instructed me how to use nasal sprays properly. Tilt your head back slightly, insert the spray into a nostril, spray, and then keep your head tilted back for a minute while the medicine takes effect. She also told me not to breathe in with my nose, as that would send the medicine down your throat and wasting it. Are there any side effects to this?

The only thing I would say is that it is addictive. i wouldn’t use it for any extended amount of time.
