Al Hart Video – FROM THE BACK SEAT OF THE POLICE CAR TO THE FRONT Al Hart grew up in a middle class family. His parents were business owners who ran a successful operation for several years in Baton Rouge. As a boy, he dreamed of one day becoming a park ranger. Instead, Al became a drug addict. He was only 13 years old when he began drinking and smoking marijuana on daily basis. That led to experimenting with pills, cocaine and ultimately to a 14 year battle with crack cocaine. Substance abuse stripped Al of his job, his kids and his freedom. He began stealing and committing other crimes to support his habit. As a result of his addiction, Al was no stranger to the back seat of a police car. Today, after completing the All The Way House Program he’s no stranger to the front seat.
