Adderall? Amph. Aspartate>Aspartame? D-Amph. Saccharate>Saccharin?
Question by : Adderall? Amph. Aspartate>Aspartame? D-Amph. Saccharate>Saccharin?
The preparation Adderall (generic: amphetamine salts) is equal compounding of (1/4th each by weight) of Dextroamphetamine saccharate, amphetamine aspartate, dextroamphetamine sulfate, and amphetamine sulfate.
I am not a chemist, but want to understand (please be as detailed as you wish, pharmacists answers welcome too!) how the aspartate is related to aspartic acid and the artificial sweetener aspartame, if at all. The same goes for the saccharate relation to saccharic acid and the artificial sweetener sodium saccharin.
I just rarely see these as in drug compounds…used to hydrochloride, sulfate, etc.

They’re not the same. Not even close.
Go to bing, images, type in “chemical structure aspartame”, then “chemical structure amphtemine aspartate”, and you’ll see exactly what I mean.
Without an organic chemistry background, it’s just impossible in this forum to go into that kind of detail.
