Is It Worth It for Me to Have His Parenting Time Taken Away/be Supervised?

Question by laura.ashly: Is it worth it for me to have his parenting time taken away/be supervised?
Ok, so to shorten the process up a little bit:
My daughter is now 2 and a half. When I found out I was pregnant with her, her “father” called me a whore and said there was no way in hell she was his. Due to me not being able to handle everything on my own I utilized the WIC services. Because of their rules they needed me to file for child support on someone. After they asked me who the father was( never telling me they were filing on my behalf) they filed for child support. My daughter was then-6 months old. Then and only then he showed an interest in her.

I have full physical custody and partial legal-so I say when and where he sees her. He takes her Tues, and Thurs from 4pm to 8pm and sundays from noon to 8pm. I have known her father pretty much all my life and when we were in high school he was into drugs and alcohol pretty bad. This behavior continued a few years after and also included beating the crap out of his girlfriends. He had since cleaned up and I thought he was on the up and up. I just recently found out that he is back to smoking pot, drinking very heavily and even back into cocaine. I have checked public records and everything has been wiped off his record because he has “completed the necessary counseling”.

As a very worried mother-how do I go about having this looked into if there is nothing on his record to prove it? Please please no idiot comments-I am truly at a loss and don’t need people throwing BS up here…
Should I contact our case worker and talk to them about it as well and get it documented with the courts or just stop letting him take her?

If it were me and I had any doubt in his behavior around her, I would not let him see her without you being there. We have motherly instincts for a reason. And besides realistically most people don’t change.

P.S I would talk to the case worker AND have it documented with cps just to cover your tracks.
