Q&A: HELP:Withdrawals From Paxil?

Question by Nickey: HELP:Withdrawals from Paxil?
My brother has been diagnosed with severe depression/OCD/ and Social Anxiety. He has been in between so many meds trying to find one that will work. Recently the docs put him on Risperdal, Remeron, and Paxil. Yeah charming little combination/cocktail. I was livid!! He started acting even crazier. My mom told me he had been taking that for 7 days. I told my mom to quickly switch him back to Celexa (he was taking 20mg of this before). The Celexa wasn’t doing wonders but at least he was stabilized. Well when we tried that, he went absolutely nuts! I can’t believe he developed an addiction in such a short amount of time! It’s been about 8 days since he came off of it and he’s still having some trouble! I know we should of “consulted” his “doctor” before switching him back to Celexa but I just didn’t think that 7 days on this stuff would produce such a horrible outcome! Anyway, I know we probably should of weened him off of it. But 7 days!!!??? I just don’t know if it’s to late. I would go to his “doctors” (he’s had a couple of these), but it seems like either these guys don’t know what they are doing or there is some kind of conspiracy on getting him to take these highly addictive drugs ($ $ $ ). He’s really suicidal and all I want to do is help. So… any tips????
In response to Lilas smart comment, I may not have 30 yrs of mental health experience nor a college degree in this field. But it doesn’t take all this “knowledge” to know that this combination of drugs is seriously dangerous. Yeah, you might as well give him some heroine to temporarily solve all his problems and then slowly ween him off of that. It might save his life. I don’t think so. I would have to take an educated guess and think that maybe it might make him crazier!
