My Husband Wants an XBOX for His Birthday (Turning 24)…..but I’m Not Sure I Want to Get Him One…?

Question by jolynn_2003: My husband wants an XBOX for his birthday (turning 24)…..but I’m not sure I want to get him one…?
The reason being is that when he gets something new, especially video game related-he gets addicted beyond belief to it and it almost becomes his world at home. That wouldn’t be such a problem except for the fact that we have a 2 1/2 yr old little boy and a 2 mo old baby girl together. He works full time, but when he comes home, he doesn’t spend much time with his kids as it is now… I’m afraid that if I get him what he wants then it’ll be even worse…but if I don’t get him the XBOX he will be disappointed. I’ve talked to him before about his problem and “addiction” to video games and he admits he has a problem, and he says that he will control himself…but I know better-I’ve been with him for 6 yrs now. So…any ideas or suggestions?

yeah, there is no way that i would buy it for him. he has already showed you that he can’t control him self when it comes to the games. do not buy it for him. yes, he will be disappointed, but tell him that it was in the best interest of the WHOLE FAMILY that he not have one.
