Bill Eppridge was a contract photographer for LIFE magazine when he photographed the Beatles’ first U.S. visit in 1964. He was on staff at LIFE from 1965 to 1972 and his photographic essays on Robert Kennedy’s last campaign and heroin addicts in Needle Park earned him international acclaim. He later joined the staff of Sports Illustrated. Bill Eppridge’s photographs of the Beatles have been touring internationally and are currently on view at Smithsonian’s Museum of American History.
