I know the chances are very slim to die or to have “anesthesia awareness”..but I just feel like such an unlucky person and that something like that might happen to me. I don’t want to be pessimistic, but I’ve been very stressed out lately..and it’s causing me all sorts of problems mentally. I think I am even feeling weaker physically because of my mental baggage, as I have read that they can be related. I am going to my doctor next week to get a routine/ pre-op exam as I know it’s always good to make sure I am healthy. I do feel healthy….I am young, I exercise, eat relatively healthy (although I wish I ate more..I think I have depression and it’s causing a loss of appetite..as I used to eat a lot), I don’t smoke/ do drugs, don’t have a known family history of inherited diseases, and I get enough sleep (although I wish to sleep before midnight, but my schedule is messed up..). So the chances of me never waking up under general anesthesia should be very slim, right?
I just feel like a bad person and unlucky..I just have so much ahead of me….I want to have my own family soon and start a career that I love…I just have to get past this stage…

very very slim.
i am a VERY unlucky person/clumsy. im 14 and i have been “knocked out” several times. its really not a big deal. the first time i was totally freaked out, but that was because i couldnt swallow and the whole first emergency room/overnight visit was scary to me. not to try to worry you or anything but that first time they couldnt get me to fall asleep, but it worked. chances are very small that anything will go wrong. believe me, im 14 and now when i get teeth pulled i opt for getting put out. when you wake up your pretty tired but still, i guess its pretty entertaining for the people who are there when you wake up =]. seriously, no big deal, very small chance something will go wrong!
just hang in there and it will be over before you know it!
