Censorship has played a big role in our lives. From the beginning of
time, their has always been somebody to tell us what you can and can not
do. Government has been the big power with censorship in any country.
They tell you what you can do and what you can not do. Take our history
as an example. We where once under the British empire. They told us
what we can and can not do.. We stood up for ourselves and became a
feel nation. We drafted the Bill of Right. According to
constitution.org, ” The conventions of a number of the States having at
the time of their adopting the Constitution, expressed a desire, in
order to prevent misconstruction or abuse of its powers, that further
declaratory and restrictive clauses should be added.” From the Bill of
Rights, we drafted the United States Constitution. But what our
forefathers set up to give them a free nation has changed throughout the
times. Our government has since starting to censor what we do. Take
the early 1990’s, we rape groups we being censor because of there
lyrics. It has also happened with the punk movement in England in the
1970’s. The punk group, the Sex Pistols, who sung about god save the
queen were censored by there government for their lyrics about the
queen. According to rollingstone.com, “Members of Parliament denounced
them” because form of the lyrics they were singing. In today society
they are still trying to censor us. Take the rape artist Eninem, they
tried to censor his lyrics about drugs and homophobia. But his records
made millions and he showed the press and government when he took stage
with Elton John that he wasn’t a homophobic. It has not really change
throughout history because there is always going to be somebody tell you
what you can and can not do.

Censorhip has a lot to do with freedom of speech, however it ends where someone else’s freedom begins. Censorship was established to delineate what is more or less pleasing to be heard by the majority. If your tastes belongs to the minority, then life sucks for you. You just have to deal with it being different from everyone else.
