How Do You Convince Someone They Are an Alchoholic?

My mom is a recovering alcoholic. She has been in ‘recovery’ for maybe a year or so. Today has been the fourth or fifth time she’s slipped up (I lost count).

When Diphus got involved at the beginning they sent her to AA, but we later found out when she wasn’t in AA anymore that she didn’t take it seriously and made it into a joke. Same with Rehab (she was an outpatient, went to meetings).

Anyway. Fifth time she’s slipped up and she still doesn’t think she’s an alcoholic. She thinks she was “abusing alcohol” We’ve talked to her and pleaded with her, but we don’t know what to do. She won’t go to AA or anything, and my father is in denail and won’t admit that she was an alcoholic either (He’s always been like this). We don’t want to call Diphus because my father is looking for a teaching job.

So, how do you do the impossible? How do you convince someone theyre an alcoholic?
She is sorry and everything and she is trying to stop, but again, she won’t admit her problem and she won’t get outside help.

you never have the opt. to convince anyone todo anything that they don’t want to accept or change it is up to the person. cool
