Is There Really a Such Thing as “Sex Addiction”?

Question by Dig That!!!: Is there really a such thing as “sex addiction”?
I mean C’mon. A person who loves to do it is a person that loves the gratification of sexual intercourse. I don’t think you can be treated for that. Because if you are counseled to not want sex, then you would have to go cold turkey right? What are your thoughts?

I have a friend who was a sex addict. It became the focal point of his life. He lost his job, his girlfriend basically everything because he was addicted to sex and porn. It was sad.
