Lately, Makesha Jones’ life has been one downer after another. She’s been off work on disability since April and bills have piled up. Thieves have broken into her east-side Detroit home three times in recent months and have tried four others. She was carjacked in 2008. Recently, DTE Energy sent her an electricity shutoff notice.
