My natural mother was neither a heroine addict or a crack whore. She was a scared young woman who didn’t have a lot of options offered to her at the time.
And yet, this seems to be the stereotype in our culture. Why?

Not all people assume that. I know I never did. and my kids birth mother wasn’t one either
