Question by Mombius Hibachi: Can using drugs like amphetamines permanently cause intellectual impairment?
For instance if you were to take an IQ test before you’d ever taken drugs and then again after you had, do you think your IQ would go down? If it did, would it be permanent or would it ever return to it’s previous level? Would the degeneration of your acumen be due to some permanent damage or would it be something that would eventually regenerate?

Ever seen those PBS specials that show MRI’s of the brains of people who drink and do drugs versus those who don’t? Think of it this way: it’s like putting very low or very high octane in your car – sure, it’ll run, maybe run faster, but the engine WILL fall apart sooner or later.
