Nausea Caused by Smoking Pot?

Question by molly: nausea caused by smoking pot?
For the past 6 months, I’ve been experiencing almost constant nausea. Multiple times a week this nausea gets so bad that it makes me lightheaded and dizzy.. my eyes will go in and out of focus, I get a headache, and i feel faint.. very often, this causes me to actually vomit. It has gotten so bad that i usually will not eat before or during work or school because i dont want to get sick while I’m there.. if i do get sick anyway, i will throw up stomach acid. I’ve lost 10 pounds since january because of this.
I have visited my doctor 3 times since it all started, and each time it gets dismissed as a “stomach virus” but at this point, I know it’s much more..
Finally this past week i was referred to a specialist. After explaining my symptoms, the first thing the doctor asked was, do i smoke pot regularly? The answer is yes, and he went on to explain that in many cases, a side effect of marijuana use is this exact nausea & dizziness that i feel almost 24/7. He said the only way to get rid of the sick feeling, is to stop using pot. I decided to give it a shot, because I am fed up of being nauseous all the time.
My question for you is – does it sounds like the doctor is right? It smoking pot really the cause of my constant nausea? If not, any other ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
