What Are the Effects of Vegetarianism on the Body?

Question by Elisabeth: What are the effects of vegetarianism on the body?
Supposing one “goes veg” the right way and keeps up with the right nutrition – are there any effects on the body while going through that transition?
I know when a vegetarian begins to eat meat they get sick, does the same apply for someone trying to go veg – like a detox type of thing?
What are some must-knows about going vegetarian? Some helpful tips, good food, recipe sites?

Thanks :]

Hey, as long as you do it healthily then there are no negative side effects.
My tips would be to make sure you get a source of protein with each meal, such as beans, nuts or cheese. Also have some dairy products because certain B vitamins can’t be sourced from non-animal foods. Spinach, seeds and broccoli are also good to ensure you’re still getting iron.
If you do it right then this is a really healthy lifestyle.
