So I’m writing a story and as usual, I can come up with the whole story but can’t think of a name that best suits the characters.
The main character is a 17-18 year old girl who is about to graduate from high school. I’m thinking blue eyes and reddish brown hair. She can be outgoing with her friends, but has a tendency of not talking about her personal life, even to the people she is closest to, including her family. She loves her brother dearly, although they never had a great relationship. She had planned to go away to college but ultimately decided to stay home so she could be a part of her brother’s rehabilitation process.
The main character’s 21 year old half brother has recently admitted his cocaine addiction after moving out and has agreed to go to rehab. He is half black and half Irish, with black hair and hazel eyes. He was very popular in high school, but after dropping out of college he’s been cooped up in his hometown while all his old friends went out into the world. He too has trouble opening up about personal things.
The third character is the siblings’ mother. She is a widow, her husband died when her children were very young, and never remarried. As she was a single parent, she had to go back to school to get a decent job to support her kids. As a result, her kids were raised mostly by their aunt. She can be very uptight and negative at times, and is constantly worried. Many nights she spends awake, afraid that the phone will ring and someone will tell her that her son is dead.
Character Four is a guy the main character meets at one of her brother’s rehab meetings. He spent a good chunk of his childhood in Germany with his grandmother and when she died, he returned to America, where he was left to raise himself for the most part as his mother is an addict. He is 19-20ish with dirty blonde hair and green eyes. He talks a lot when he is nervous and often jokes about his situation, despite the fact that deep down it hurts him.
