Do Adderall and Xanex Cancel Eachother Out?
Question by Fummi: Do adderall and xanex cancel eachother out?
i saw a practitioner at our doctors office for refills and she said i shouldnt be taking both adderall and xanex because they cancel eachother out, so she started to wean me off the xanax by lowering how many i take daily. i dont think shes right about this though. i take xanex for panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder and adderall for attention deficit disorder. i dont think shes right because without xanex, i have severe panic attacks and extreme anxiety. without adderall im so unfocused, i dont notice when others are talking to me when im doing something, even mindless activities, and i forget what im saying midsentence frequently. im also extremley disorganized without adderall. when i have them together, i can focus and i stay very organized. and then i also dont worry about every little thing and i dont have panic attacks. im very happy, and i can tell they do work together. preferably i would like an answer from a healthcare professional, someone who knows medicine, or someone who has an answer from a reliable source so i can use it to back me up next time i go to the doctors. thank youu <3

Your anxiety/panic and your ‘attention deficit disorder’ are not caused by drug deficiencies. They’re more likely a result of what you’re eating and/or drinking. Most prepackaged foods contain artificial colors and flavors that contain phenols and salicylates that can cause this hyperactivity and anxiety.
Google ‘salicylate sensitivity’ or “salicylate intolerance” or ‘phenol intolerance’ and you’ll pull up a lot of useful information. Also check out the Feingold website — they have literally hundreds of cases of kids and adults who recovered from these problems by eliminating the artitifical colors, flavors and sweetners (especially aspartame — Nutrasweet) from their diets.
You are not deficient in drugs.
