Whats HCL Mean?

Question by uberdaiblo111: Whats HCL mean?
I know it can stand for either Hydrochloric acid or hydrogen chloride but what im woundering is what it means when a chemicle says HCL after its name, for instance : Sodium cloride HCl or even cocaine HCl.

How does it all fit together… i really have 0 understanding in chemestry and was hoping somone could break it down for me.

If a chemical name is “x hydrochloride”, it means that it was obtained as a result of a reaction involving HCl.
