Do Minors in New York State Have Doctor-Patient Confidentiality?

Question by Watermelon: Do minors in New York state have doctor-patient confidentiality?
I’m almost 16 and I live in New York, and I was wondering if my doctor could legally relay information to my mother without my consent. It’s nothing serious, I was just wondering if my doctor could tell my mother that I have a piercing without my consent. Thanks!

That confidentiality does not apply to your parents/guardians if you are a minor.
