I was watching Breaking Bad, and I was just curious about methamphetamine. Wikipedia said that the half life of methamphetamine is 9 to 12 hours, and I was curious that what would happen to the drug every half life. As far as I am life, every half life, the quantity get halved. In the drama, Walter, the main character, made 38 pounds of methamphetamine and was waiting for distributer for days. Since the half life of the drug is so short, wouldn’t the quantity of the methamphetamine decrease?
One other question is that, according to the law of conservation of energy, what happens to the half of the methamphetamine that were gone??

In this context the half life refers to how long the effects of the drug last when taken by a person, not how long the drugs last when kept in boxes.
