Can the FDA Label a Naturally Occurring Vitamin or Forms of It a “drug”?

Question by Nemo: Can the FDA label a naturally occurring vitamin or forms of it a “drug”?
I was wondering about why the FDA would be trying to ban the use of Inject able vitamin C? And also if vitamins such as vitamin C were able to be considered “drugs”?

It is a drug because it is taken from something and then condensed and altered. I’m sure the FDA has it’s reasons for banning injectable vitamin C. I’ve heard claims that it was some ‘miracle drug’ when that is far from the truth. Your body can only use so much vitamin C and thank god it is water soluble or you would die. Water soluble vitamins are peed out when the body cannot use it. However, fat soluble vitamins, like A, will kill you if you consume too much because you cannot pee them out since they are stored in your fat and are released over time. Too much fat soluble vitamins or minerals, like iron, will damage your liver to the point of it failing.

apparently tink is out of the loop. You cannot take a syringe and an orange and inject it.

That is a bias site just like all the rest of them out there. You would have to look at the actual law to see the reasoning behind it and not some rant of of pro injectable sites.
