Dextroamphetamine IS different than Adderall. Adderall, which is the brand name for generic “Amphetamines”, contains 4 different amphetamine salts including dextroamphetamine.
Dexedrine is the brand name for dextroamphetamine, just like Adderall is the brand name for amphetamines. Dexedrine and Adderall work primarily the same. Dexedrine is pure dextroamphetamine and it will basically help you focus, and it will supress your appetite the same as Adderall. Dexedrine is a little bit stronger than Adderall at equal doses.
They are both addicting, but if you truly have ADD/ADHD, you most likely will not get addicted to them because they work differently in ppl that have ADD/ADHD compared to a normal person taking it. Thats why you HAVE to have a script for it. You should REALLY find something else to get high on if that is what you are using it for. I say that because they both make you feel really good the 1st week or 2 at the most, even if you have ADD like me. BUT after that “honeymoon” period, it doesn’t make you feel happy anymore, unless you take pretty much double what your supposed to. If you do this, you will run out really quickly and it is VERY detrimental to your organs (read studies).
I remember when I first was prescribed Adderall, I thought it was the best thing ever(I had experimented illegally with other things in the past). And what was even better was that I had a prescription for it! I could be getting high legally everyday! But I soon realized after 1 week, I didn’t feel euphoric anymore, but it still helped my focus (which was the major problem with ADD). So I never abused it after that and I take it like I was prescribed and it still really helps me focus. I get my “highs” from other things like sports, but I will still dabble in experimenting with other drugs.
Pretty much if you take it like you are supposed to for the purpose of helping you concentrate and focus, then it is a life saver. BUT if you take it to get high and feel good, it will only bring bad results. And the bad effects will come quickly and cause permanent damage at high doses. Good Luck!
