Ray Estefania of Family Recovery Specialists – Ray Estefania is the Founder and Clinical Director of Family Recovery Specialists, an intensive outpatient program for adolescents and young adults that also provides concierge crisis/case management and intervention services. Family Recovery Specialists was established to treat the unique needs of adolescents and young adults who are addicted to or abusing alcohol or other substances. Teenagers and young adults are going through a difficult developmental stage as they transition from childhood into adulthood. While some experimentation with substances often occurs during this time, it can lead to problematic use if allowed to progress without some type of intervention. Studies indicate the younger a person begins using substances, the more likely they are to become addicted. Also, adolescents and younger adults progress through the stages of use more quickly than adults and often exhibit more behavioral problems as a result of substance use.
