Krepel resigns as FSU president
With less than two years on the job, Fairmont State University President Thomas Krepel has resigned. FSU Board of Governors Chairman Rocco Muriale confirmed Krepel had resigned late Wednesday. In response, the university’s governing board will have an emergency meeting at 9 a.m. Monday in the Falcon Center on the FSU main campus.

‘One-stop shop’ for community assistance
The United Way of Marion County will host a unique event Friday. This is the first year the organization has hosted Community Service Central. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Middletown Mall.

Shop ’n Save site to close April 23
The Shop ’n Save store on Country Club Road in Fairmont will be closing its doors in less than a month. Jamieson Family Markets, which owns the store, informed employees Tuesday of its intention to close that particular location.
