I’m Free:

It’s 10:21
and the tears are done
all that i weep
drift me off to sleep
with my lights dimmed low
and my pillow wet
i fail to mend my heart
with my big regret
eat me up inside
although you say you care
your half-assed lies
proved your heart wasnt there
your signs were there
but i chose to ignore them
im not like those girls
who follow your system
your perfect exterior
is a distraction, at best,
to hide your distaste
and scummy uninterest
but it took just one second
to be instantly hooked
like a dealer with meth
or a nerd and his books
but after it took me 15 years
to build my self-love
and i learned to stay strong
from the Lord up above
it’s incredibly hard
to give up an addiction
but i dont live in a world
of fantasy or fiction
so im walking away
no matter how hard it may be
i can finally say,
“Hey look, Tyler, I’m free!”

Call my Bluff:

You keep me up at night
my mind consumed with thoughts of you
a smile is plastered across my face
at what you make me want to do
the giddiness inside of me
makes my fragile heart skip a beat
you blush, i stare into your blue eyes
that moment is oh so bittersweet
let me steal just one more kiss
i can’t seem to get enough
i cant keep on this poker face
so baby you can call my bluff
my heart spins around
just like a carousel
with your arms around my waist
i want to hold you close as well
yes, you keep me up
at all hours of the night
i think of you by my side
and drift because it feels so right
